SCOUTS
Ethan Harter of Boy Scout Troop 399 in Evans City recently received the rank of Eagle.
He has been a scout for 10 years and has earned 30 merit badges. He attended both Camp Buccoco and Camp Heritage, where he earned many high adventure badges such as White Water Rafting and Wilderness Survival.
A senior honor student at Seneca Valley High School, he plans to study forensic accounting. His activities have included fencing, boxing and playing the trumpet and guitar.
He is an active member of the Zelienople Nazarene Church Praise Team. As a professional magician, he has helped support many nonprofit organizations in the past three years.
His Eagle project involved repair and restoration of a gazebo for the new memorial garden at the Zelienople Church of the Nazarene. He coordinated more than 100 man hours and managed supplies and donations.
He is the son of Brian and Cindy Harter of Cranberry Township and is the second generation of Eagle Scouts in his family.
Troop 399 is sponsored by the St. Mathias Church in Evans City.

On Nov. 16, Cub Scout Pack 51 of Saxonburg held its annual rain gutter regatta race. Each scout designed and built their own small single hull sailboat to race along a 10 foot gutter.
Winners of Pack 51’s regatta race are Christian Scheller, first; Michael Kohl, second, and Grant Arnold, third.
