N.C. handles Virginia, 37-13

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — One minute, North Carolina was clinging to a 20-13 lead, and Virginia was in position to tie the game.

The next, the Tar Heels’ maligned defense had a goal-line stand, and the rout was about to be on.

Bryn Renner threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter after a goal-line stand and North Carolina ended Virginia’s postseason hopes with a 37-13 victory Thursday night.
