BUFFALO TWP — Motorists have a new place to get their cars repaired.

The township supervisors on Wednesday approved a conditional use for Derek Rhoden to operate an automotive repair business on Cole Road.

Rhoden said in an interview his work would include engine repair and light welding.

The conditional use enables Rhoden to park up to 10 vehicles outside the barn serving as the garage.

The supervisors also discussed the impact of the Columbia Gas project to enlarge the diameter of the former Buckeye Pipeline so natural gas can be sent through it.

Supervisor Gary Risch said having 700 workers in Buffalo everyday is boosting the township’s economy.

Supervisor John Haven said the company, a division of NiSource, is doing much better after getting off to a rocky start. He said there have been only a few complaints about the project so far.

The pipeline extends 54 miles over multiple counties.
