WASHINGTON — Knoch graduate and Washington & Jefferson running back Tim McNerney recently received a posthumous selection to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference first-team All-Star squad.

McNerney had 89 carries for 461 yards and four touchdowns in four games before his tragic death Oct. 4. He had 2,336 yards and 30 touchdowns rushing in his career with the Presidents.

Following its 31-14 victory over Waynesburg Saturday, W&J dedicated its 23rd PAC football title to McNerney and his family.

SRU soccer players named All-PSACSLIPPERY ROCK — A total of 11 Slippery Rock University men’s and women’s soccer players have earned All-PSAC honors this season.Butler graduate and Rock senior defender Drew Donoghue earned first-team honors with a team-leading four assists. He played center back for SRU, which allowed just 18 goals in 21 games.Sophomore forward Chris Davis — who led SRU with six goals — and junior defender Josh Gray also earned first-team recognition. Gray scored two goals and had four assists.Goalkeeper Clayton Master earned second-team honors. He was 10-4-6 with nine shutouts and led the PSAC in goals-against average and save percentage.Forward Lucy Hannon tallied 10 goals and 10 assists to claim first-team honors for the women. Defender Emer Flatley and goalkeeper Dana O’Neill were also named to the first team.Forward Shelby Ward was a second-teamer with nine goals and three assists, joined by midfielder Leslie Henny and defender Lauren Impey. Defender Izabell Scott was a third-team selection.

Big East will have two divisions The new Big East will have a West Division, and Temple, located in Philadelphia, will be part of it.The East will have Central Florida, South Florida, Connecticut, Louisville, Cincinnati and Rutgers. The West will have Boise State, Houston, Memphis, San Diego State, SMU and Temple.
