The Freeport girls volleyball team dismantled visiting Blackhawk in a WPIAL Class AA second-round playoff Thursday night by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-14.

The Yellowjackets (14-1) will face Ambridge, a 3-2 winner over Thomas Jefferson, in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.

Slippery Rock 3, Mercer 0 — The Rockets (12-0) closed the regular season with a dominating 25-12, 25-10, 25-11 road win.

Carly Shearer totaled seven kills, six digs and five service aces and Taylor Stamm 24 assists.

Laura Hilliard and Heather Urbanik both had seven kills and Megan Little contributed six digs.

Slippery Rock will next compete in the District 10 playoffs next week.

The Rockets’ junior varsity squad also finished the season undefeated with a 2-1 win.

Boys SoccerMars 2, Indiana 0 — Spencer Posey and Ryan McMahon both scored a goal as the Planets (17-2-1) knocked the Indians (13-5-1) out of the WPIAL Class AA playoffs.Peters Township 2, Seneca Valley 1 — The Raiders (14-5-1) saw their season come to an end with a loss to the host Indians (14-1-2) in a WPIAL Class AAA quarterfinal playoff.
