Harold G. Gold

Harold G. Gold, 86, of Saxonburg passed away Thursday at Elmcroft of Saxonburg.

Born Aug. 2, 1926, in Butler, he was the son of George M. Gold and Hazel Thompson Gold.

Harold worked as a route salesman for Coca Cola. He served as road master for Penn Township for many years. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, having served in the 138 Combat Engineers in France and Germany.

He was a member of the VFW Post 249 in Butler.

Surviving are his wife, Irene B. Hanchovsky Gold, who he married May 20, 1950; two sons, David (Beverly) Gold of Gibsonia and Jeffrey (Kathleen) Gold of Butler; and three grandchildren, Jason, Hillary and Phillip.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Johnathan Gold; two brothers; and two sisters.

GOLD — There will be no public visitation or service for Harold G. Gold, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012. A private interment was in the Brownsdale Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or AseraCare Hospice, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15235.Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg, handled the arrangements.
