Area authors are at it again, writing books on a variety of subject matter, both fiction and nonfiction.

Here is a sampling of recent offerings of residents from the surrounding area.

“Juice with Me — A Beginner's Guide” by T.L. Bliss of Butler documents the steps and information required to learn juicing.

This self-help book was built with the notes Bliss took on her own personal journey looking for recipes, getting involved with blogs, and reading up on fruits and vegetables.

The author's other books include “The Magic Diary,” “The Magic Diary — It's Personal,” “The Magic Diary — The Bully” and “Broken Circle of Life.”

Bliss is working on books four and five of her “Magic Diary” series, as well as book two in the “Broken Circle of Life” series.

“Yardbird USA: How the United States Became the World's Leading Jailer (Musings of a Trial Lawyer)” by Jack Cline of Grove City contains a dozen true crime cases with differing outcomes that point to an explosion in the prison population in the past two decades.

Cline is a practicing trial lawyer in Mercer County.

His 175-page book is available for $14.97 from Strategic Book Publishing at sbpra.com.

Cranberry Township residents Jacqueline Blakeslee and Dr. Debra Gorin, a psychiatrist, have co-authored “Mormons at the Doctor's Office” about Gorin's experiences with patients.

The approximately 50-page book was published in April with the help of New Horizon Publishers in New Wilmington.

“Love Is Patient” by D.P. Memory is a fictional thriller and love story.

D.P. Memory is the pseudonym of Donna Heindl of Valencia.

In her tale, Fran and Ken cannot have children, but a surrogate mother comes along and is going to bear twins for the young couple in Mars.

All seems to be going well, until Fran and Ken travel to New York City for a meeting at the World Trade Center. The date is Sept. 10, 2001.

“Love is Patient” was published Sept. 11, 2012. The 266 page novel is available online to be downloaded digitally.

The author is working on her second novel “Love is Kind.”

Valerie Benko of Lyndora wrote an original contribution that has been published in the newly released book, “Not Your Mother's Book on Being a Woman,” the lead title in a new entertainment series.

Benko's story is called “Almost Barely Complete.”

The real-life stories are written by people age 18 and older and contain language and situations for a mature audience.

The book costs $16.95 at book stores.
