Scary Stuff Art of Horror Show starts
The Underground Gallery at The Art Center opens the seventh “Art of Horror Show” Friday with a reception at 7 p.m.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is $5. Five area bands will perform, including the Amplifiers, One If By Land, What Great Fangs, Guard Your Heart, and Dot Dot Dot She Loves Me Not. There will be a poetry reading by Kathie Nelson.
Patrons are encouraged to wear costumes.
The show expresses the darker side of artistic expression with horror themed art work. It continues through Nov. 2.
Continuing at The Art Center is “Six Artists One Vision,” an exhibition of artwork in a variety of media by a group of family and friends. This show runs through Nov. 9.
Art Center hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The Art Center is at 344 S. Main St.
The recently closed Art Faculty Exhibit moves Friday to the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road.
A reception there begins at 7 p.m. Friday.
Faculty from local colleges and high schools display a variety of creative entries.
Admission to the Cranberry show is free, and light refreshments will be served. Winners of $1,000 in cash awards will be announced at 8 p.m.
The Art Faculty Exhibit at the Cranberry site will be displayed through Nov. 9 during Municipal Center hours.
