FREEPORT — Among contestants from five counties, Mary Jean Felice was crowned Ms. Quality Life at the Ms. Quality Life pageant Sept. 25 at Laube Hall in Freeport.
Felice is a resident of Fair Winds Manor personal care home of Sarver.
Felice danced a choreographed performance to “Dancing Queen” by ABBA with her nephew and escort Nick DeMeno.
Born in 1918, Felice owned a restaurant with her husband Pompey for 40 years.
Her prize package included a bouquet of flowers, the official crown and sash, a $100 J.C. Penney's gift card, a lunch outing of her choice, the responsibility of announcing the Quality Life Services Cook-off winner in October and passing her crown on to Ms. Quality Life 2013 next September.
Each contestant in the pageant won titles before the event in their nursing homes of residence.
First runner-up was Shirley Bittner, Ms. West Haven Manor, of Apollo.

The pageant's sponsors included by Quality Life Services, Blackburn's, Mary Barnhart's Beauty Shop, Klingensmith Clinical Care, Personal Touch, Thrower Communications and Craftsmen Ziegler Printing.
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas elected officers for the 2012-2014 term.The officers are: Mary Ball, regent; Stella Smith, vice regent; Sylvia Stypula, recording secretary; Rosemary Pawlowicz, treasurer; and Bridget Wallace, financial secretary.The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will meet on the second Monday of each month.The next meeting will be held Monday in the rectory room at Saint Paul Church, 128 N. McKean St.
