The Oakview Ladies Golf League recently had its 13th Breast Cancer tournament at the Oakview Golf Club, raising $18,000.

That is the league’s largest contribution for the Women’s Imaging Center at Butler Memorial Hospital, surpassing last year’s donation by nearly $2,000.

This year’s event was chaired by Stephanie Lubinsky and Shirley Vernon.

Proceeds help to update digital mammography equipment at Butler Memorial and its outpatient testing sites.

“The constant dedication and support of this group has helped us create a vision of better health for the women of Butler County,” said Peggy Wright, supervisor of the Women’s Imaging Center.

“I am inspired that this group has dedicated their efforts toward breast cancer awareness and treatment.”

Since the tournament began in 2000, more than $91,000 has been donated to the Women’s Imaging Center. For information on the center, call 724-284-4850.
