GCC prevails on final drive
Anthony Ritchie caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brian Pell with 18 seconds remaining to give the Grove City College football team a 23-21 victory over Westminster College Saturday.
The drive capped a 12-play, 66-yard drive that saw the Wolverines (3-2, 2-1 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) convert on two fourth-down plays.
Mars graduate Shane Kaclik continued his torrid running attack, rushing for 127 yards — including a career-long 61-yard run — on 25 carries. The game marked his fourth consecutive 100-yard effort.
Men’s GolfBC3’s Matt Eshelman (Knoch) and Tucker Preston (Karns City) each carded a 166 to tie for seventh place at the WPCC Golf Tournament at The Links this past weekend to earn all-tournament honors.Eshelman (79-87) and Preston (84-82) helped the Pioneers to a second-place finish behind champion CCAC South, which finished with a two-day score of 684, nine strokes better than BC3.Eric Poplowski of CCAC South earned medalist honors with a 153.Rounding out the rest of the BC3 participants were Mars graduate Garrett Gabriel (180) and Butler graduates Tyler Friel (181), Bill Smith (189) and Nelson Johnson (220).

Field HockeyDespite goals by Kelsey Gustafson and Gabrielle Malishchak, the latter which tied the game with four minutes remaining in regulation, The Rock (6-5, 3-1) fell to Kutztown 3-2 in overtime Saturday.
Women’s SoccerOn the heels of a double-overtime loss on Friday, The Rock fell 2-0 to Shippensburg University on Saturday.
