A-C Valley routs Redbank Valley; Slippery Rock cruises past East

Eagles escape with late score; Union falls to Clarion, 28-7

Landon Delisio scored on runs of 40 and 23 yards Friday night as A-C Valley rolled past Redbank Valley, 47-13, in high school football.

The Falcons (2-3, 2-1) also received a pair of field goals from Justin Rothen — from 20 and 25 yards out — and Kevin Kaufman tossed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Brody Irwin. Kaufman — who completed 8-of-19 passes for 177 yards on the night — also hit Greg Elliott for a 40-yard TD toss.

Rothen returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown and Andrew Strauser scored on a 1-yard run for A-C Valley.

Slippery Rock 45, East 20 — Six different players found the end zone and Cole McCandless booted a 39-yard field goal as the Rockets rolled over the Warriors.

Slippery Rock quarterback Ryan Currie led the team with 90 yards rushing on 13 carries. He also scored on a touchdown run.

Joey Meyer, Jared McDowell, Chris Gaul and Frank Conlon also found the end zone on the ground for the Rockets, who rushed for 273 yards on 42 carries as a team.

Chris Reeseman scored on a 45-yard punt return and also had two interceptions on defense for Slippery Rock (5-0), which led 35-7 at halftime.

Grove City 19, Greenville 14 —Foster Reznor scored on a 5-yard run with 50 seconds remaining as the Eagles (4-1, 3-1) escaped with a win at Greenville.

Harold Price rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown while Chad Williams ran for 109 yards and a score for Grove City. Jared Graham completed 8-of-10 passes for 110 yards.

Tyler Fattman opened the game with an 87-yard kick return for a touchdown for Greenville.

Clarion 28, Union 7 — Bobcats running back T.J. Armstrong racked up 208 rushing yards and two touchdowns to help hand the Golden Knights their first loss of the season in a matchup of undefeated KSAC-Small schools.

Union forced four first-half turnovers, but managed just one touchdown off the Clarion miscues.

Union's score came on a 9-yard touchdown pass from Brody Shick to Keenan Rankin to take a 7-0 lead. The touchdown was set up by Shick's fifth defensive interception of the year.

Shick would later pick off another pass and Aaron Graham came up with an interception. However, the Clarion defense stopped the Golden Knights short of the end zone and controled the game from there.

Union (4-1, 2-1) travels to Kennedy Catholic next Saturday.

Brookville 19, Moniteau 14 — The Warriors remained winless as Brookvile quarterback Cameron Yard scored on a 1-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.

Dustin Geagan had 20 carries for 163 yards and scored both touchdowns for Moniteau. He scored on a 65-yard run and recovered a teammate's fumble in the end zone. Cody Skiver had 10 carries for 88 yards as the Warriors had 300 yards rushing.

“We ran the ball better tonight, but our passing game is still struggling,” Moniteau coach Jeff Campbell said. “We need to finish off games.”

Summit Academy 20, Ford City 14 — Jayron Dudley pulled in a 13-yard scoring pass from Chris Harp with two seconds remaining to lift the Knights to the Allegheny Conference triumph.

The Knights (2-3, 1-3) erased a 14-0 fourth-quarter deficit against the Sabers (2-3, 1-3) as Robert Burton scored on a 2-yard run with 10:28 left, then Harp threw a 47-yard pass to La'Dale Cole with 7:43 to play.

Harp's conversion pass to Jayron Dudley would knot the score at 14.

Harp completed seven of his 14 passes for 123 yards while Javon Cooper rushed for 121 yards on 20 carries.

Girls SoccerSlippery Rock 6, Meadville 0 — Molly Joyce scored twice for the Rockets (5-4, 5-0) in this Thursday game. Abby Magliocca, Makenzie Elliott, Laura Fisher and Harley Boyd all scored a goal each with Charlene Doerr getting an assist.Raquel Huff had four saves in securing the shutout.
