IN BRIEF

GROVE CITY — Robert Jackson Jr., Grove City Medical Center's CEO, participated in a symposium on patient safety and quality of service in Lancaster on Sept. 12.

The symposium was sponsored by the Hospital & Health System Association of Pennsylvania.

Jackson was picked from HAP's member organizations across the state to represent hospital leadership in a panel discussion for an audience of about 250 nurse leaders, chief medical officers, risk managers, patient safety officers, directors and vice presidents of quality, nurse managers and physicians.

Lynn Leighton, HAP's vice president of health services, said Jackson was picked because “Grove City Medical Center is a model for hospitals across Pennsylvania.

Some of the topics discussed during the symposium include strategies the panelists would put in effect today to improve quality and patient safety, many of which focused on health care workers viewing the patient experience from the patient's perspective.
