GLENDALE, Ariz. — Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald has become the youngest player with 700 receptions.

Fitzgerald, a University of Pittsburgh product, needed two catches to reach 700 and did it quickly against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, catching a 4-yard pass from Kevin Kolb in the first quarter to hit the mark.

Fitzgerald hit 700 receptions at 29 years and 23 days old, eclipsing the mark set by Dallas tight end Jason Witten last week. Witten was 30 years, 133 days old when he caught No. 700 against Seattle.

Fitzgerald entered Sunday's game needing 318 yards to join Randy Moss as the only players in NFL history to reach 10,000 receiving yards before turning 30.

NEW YORK — The NHL has fined the Detroit Red Wings for comments made by senior vice president Jim Devellano in an interview about the lockout.NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly says in a statement Saturday that the league and team agree Devellano's comments were not appropriate, authorized or permitted under NHL bylaws.Devellano was quoted by the Island Sports News, saying his solution to end the lockout would be to have the players take 43 percent and the owners get 57 percent of hockey-related revenues.The players had been getting 57 percent.The Hockey Hall of Famer also cautions NHL players going overseas not get injured because the league has pulled medical benefits from the players and won't pay them “one dime” until they're cleared by league doctors.

SEATTLE — Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington is still unsure when star Josh Hamilton will be back in the lineup.Hamilton was not with the Rangers for their weekend series in Seattle. The former AL MVP returned to Texas on Friday for further evaluation of a sinus problem that is affecting his vision.
