Man sentenced for molesting

A Butler man has been sentenced to serve 1 to 2 years in jail for molesting a 7-year-old girl last year.

Larry Noble Ingram, 23, pleaded guilty to indecent assault of a child under age 13 and was sentenced Thursday by Butler County Judge William Shaffer.

According to court records, Ingram was baby-sitting the girl in a city home when he inappropriately touched her, police said. The girl reportedly told investigators that she only was molested one time.

When sentenced on Thursday, Ingram already had credit for 363 days he’d spent in prison awaiting trial. When he is released from prison, Ingram will serve another 3 years on probation.

A member of the state’s Sexual Offender Assessment Board determined Ingram does not meet the criteria to be deemed a sexually violent predator. But still, based on the crime involved, he must register his whereabouts with state police for the rest of his life.

Neither Ingram nor members of the victim’s family who attended the hearing talked in court.
