National Players perform 'Romeo and Juliet'
BUTLER TWP — The Succop Theater at Butler County Community College hosts a National Players’ production of “Romeo and Juliet” at 8 p.m. Saturday as part of the 11th Performing Arts Series.
Based in Olney, Md., the National Players are billed as the longest running touring classical theater company in the U.S. and this presentation marks the group’s fifth appearance at the Succop.
The rest of the parts series will feature two more shows plus four concerts by the Pittsburgh Philharmonic.
• Pittsburgh Philharmonic with “Once Upon a Dream,” featuring Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty,” Ravel’s “Beauty and the Beast” and other fairy tale classics plus a visit by Ariel and Pocahontas, Oct. 26

• World Class Dance with the Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Feb. 20
• Pittsburgh Philharmonic with “Storybook Heroes,” March 15

• Pittsburgh Philharmonic’s “Romeo and Juliet,” May 17.
