PITTSBURGH — A woman awaiting trial on charges she abducted a newborn from a Pittsburgh hospital last month has been committed to a state mental hospital for depression.

A judge committed 19-year-old Breona Moore to Torrance State Hospital over the objections of Allegheny County Deputy District Attorney Laura Ditka. Ditka argued that Moore should remain in jail.

The baby was found unharmed.
