SRU soccer improves to 3-0-2
JOHNSTOWN — Slippery Rock High graduate Michael Ramirez netted the game’s first goal as the Slippery Rock University men’s soccer team blanked Pitt-Johnstown 3-0 Tuesday.
The Rock had moved into the national rankings at No. 25 in a release from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America a few hours before kickoff and improved to 3-0-2 on the season with the win. Pitt-Johnstown drops to 0-4-0.
Mike Roopchandsingh and Ryan Lutke accounted for The Rock’s other goals.
Clayton Master earned the win in goal for SRU after recording three saves for his second straight shutout while Chris Davis, Stephen Donnelly and Peter Boylan added assists.
