Former Zelie resident earns Alumni Award
Roger Reeb, formerly of Zelienople, has received the Alumni Award in Teaching from the University of Dayton.
Reeb, who holds a doctorate in psychology, has taught at the school since 1993.
He has served as director of graduate programs in psychology since 2006 and was promoted to full professor in 2010.
Reeb, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Rape of Zelienople and a 1980 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, has distinguished himself through integrating his teaching, research and scholarship in complementary ways.
His teaching emphasizes civic engagement and service-learning, accompanied by a scientist-practitioner perspective.
He pushes his students to link theory and research with leadership and service.
Reeb has a national reputation for research and scholarship on service-learning and civic engagement. His work has been presented at regional, national and international conferences.
