SRU men's soccer ties with Tiffin
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University men’s soccer team got a pair of goals from Chris Davis, but had to settle for a 3-3 tie against Tiffin University Sunday afternoon.
The Rock had a two-goal lead on two occasions, but Tiffin rallied both times.
Anthony Jack also scored for SRU.
Mike Roopchandsingh had two assists for The Rock.
Field HockeyKaitlin McGinnis scored a three goals as the Slippery Rock University field hockey team moved to 2-0 for the first time since 1997 with a dominating 6-1 win over American International College Saturday.SRU outshot AIC 20-0 in the first half.The Rock held a 25-9 advantage in shots in the match.
VolleyballMorgan Tyree had 10 kills and Hannah McShea added 20 digs and an ace as the Slippery Rock University volleyball team swept Holy Family 27-25, 25-23, 26-24 Saturday.SRU (1-3) lost to Dowling earlier in the day 25-18, 25-11, 25-18.
FootballMars graduate Shane Kaclik rushed for a team-leading 65 yards on 18 carries, but a late touchdown by Carnegie Mellon University sunk Grove City College in a 23-20 road loss Saturday afternoon.In a game that featured six lead changes, the final one occurred with 5:06 remaining on the fourth-quarter clock when CMU quarterback Tim Kikta found Rob Kalkstein for a 45-yard touchdown.Anthony Ritchie led the Wolverines with seven receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown.
