CENTER TWP — Center Township resident Dave Shively placed third in the FLW Tour Open bass fishing tournament held Saturday on the Detroit River.

Shively competed against 136 of the nation’s best bass anglers. He was in 17th place after the first day, seventh after the second and wound up in third, falling 1 pound and 5 ounces short of the title.

Shively caught 19 pounds, 3 ounces of bass on the final day.
