Lauren Shipton and Jake Kothe

A May 18 wedding is being planned by Lauren Shipton of Grove City and Jake Kothe of Slippery Rock.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lonnie and Karen Shipton of Grove City. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Robert and Eunice Kothe of Shermans Dale, Pa.

The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of Mercer High School and is attending Laurel Technical Institute in Sharon for cosmetology.

She is employed at Charlene and Co. Hair Design in Hermitage as an assistant.

Her fiancé graduated in 2008 from West Perry High School in Elliottsburg and studied criminology at Slippery Rock University.

He is employed by the Mercer County Jail as a corrections officer and is a member of the National Guard.
