New pregnancy support site opens
A new pregnancy support clinic has opened in Butler at 118 S. Church St.
Traci Fiaretti, director of client services at My Choice Medical Clinic, said Tuesday the clinic offers many services, including prenatal and parenting education.
Other clinic services include pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, 24-hour hotline, sexual health information, material aid, men’s programs, as well as making referrals for medical, community resources, housing, educational assistance and adoption agency services.
Fiaretti said the clinic makes no birth control or abortion referrals.
While My Choice services are free for clients, the group’s costs are paid by donations, Fiaretti said.
My Choice’s parent corporation is Life Choices of Kittanning.
Formerly known as Pregnancy Support Services, Life Choices began in 1984 by Jessie Schaeffer, who “felt a pro-life presence was needed in Armstrong County,” according to Life Choices’ Web site.
The Web site says the agency presents programs in the Armstrong School District, at the Redbank Valley junior and senior high schools, at the Freeport junior and senior high schools and at Evangel Heights Christian Academy.”
Life Choices also plans to open a My Choice clinic in Indiana, Pa.
