Small businesses looking for help in implementing projects to cut energy costs and reduce pollution can apply for state grants of up to $9,500, according to state Sen. Don White, R-41st.
The Small Business Advantage Grant Program, administered through the state Department of Environmental Protection, helps firms implement measures that save at least 25 percent, with a minimum savings of $750 annually in energy costs.
The program, White noted, provides a 50 percent matching grant of up to $9,500 toward energy efficiency improvements on systems such as lighting, heating, cooling, as well as building insulation projects.
The application deadline is Sept. 26.
