Landowner Map Book available

The new “Butler County Landowner Map Plat Book” is now on sale. The book contains detailed maps of each of Butler County’s 33 townships showing the landowner’s name and acreage.

Also included is an alphabetized index to landowners, keyed to the section to enable you to locate tracts of land immediately.

Simply locate the area you want on the index page. A page number is printed next to the township name. It is easy to find who owns substantial partial parcels of land throughout Butler County.

This is the fifth time the Butler County Conservation District has sponsored the publication of a landowner map book.

The map books were first published in 1986, then in 1991, 1998 and 2007. The books are especially helpful for hunters, real estate agents, surveyors, appraisers, foresters, farmers, contractors, engineers, gas well drillers or anyone working on the land.

The book is published as a guide to the community. All data contained in the landowner map book was gathered from public records and elsewhere. Due to continual sales and transfers of property, it is impossible to guarantee 100 percent accuracy.

The new books may be purchased at the Butler County Conservation District office in Building No. 8 at the Sunnyview complex. You can phone the office at 724-284-5270 to obtain a copy.

The books are also available at the county treasurer’s office and the courthouse annex.

Ron Fodor is manager of the Butler County Conservation District.
