GIBSONIA — Butler County residents permeate the cast of “Chicago” opening Friday at the Kean Theatre.

Marlaina Guido of Cranberry Township is playing the part of leading lady Roxie Hart, and Whitney Ann Jenkins of Butler takes on the role of her counterpart, Velma Kelly. Stefan Lingenfelter of Butler is playing fast-talking and fast-tapping lawyer Billy Flynn.

The Bob Fosse musical of murder and mayhem with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb has toured the world multiple times, and its 15-year run on Broadway is legendary.

The cast at the Kean is rounded out by Lacreita Crawford of Butler as Mary Sunshine; Debra Humphrey of Houston, Washington County, as Matron Mama Morton; Bob Miller of Shaler as Amos Hart; and Mike Regan of Hampton Township as the bandleader.

Playing the “cell block girls” are Megan Flannery of Butler as Annie; Shannon McCarren, also of Butler, as Mona; Katie Colosimo of Wexford as Liz; Jennifer Rausch, also of Wexford, as June; and Meagan Reagle of Pittsburgh as Hunyak.

The ensemble includes Gretchen Breslawski, Tessa Flannery and Greg Crawford, all of Butler; Drew Gaworski of Cranberry; Daniel Deluca of Carnegie; Deena Hower of Pittsburgh; Evan Oslund of Oakmont; and Laura Wagner of Hampton.

The show is directed and produced by Tom Madden, managing and artistic director of the Kean.

Showtime is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday as well as July 20 and 21. Cost is $35. A dinner prior to the show is available; reservations are needed.

Matinees will be staged at 2 p.m. Sunday and July 22. Cost is $33. An optional luncheon prior to the show is available.
