Goldie D. Vogel, 80, of Mars died Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Township.

Born in Richland Township on Oct. 7, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lottie Kretzer.

Goldie worked as a laborer for the James Austin Co. in Mars for more than 20 years.

She was a member of the Christian Community Church and had been a volunteer for the Lighthouse. She lived at Penn-Mar Plaza in Mars for five years.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Vogel Moody (Tom) of Mars and Kathryn Vogel; four sons, Vincent Vogel of Butler, Arthur Vogel, Bruce Vogel of Mars and Michael Elliot of Parker; two sisters, Pearl McCloskey of Mars and Shirley Charles in New York; a brother, Homer Kretzer of Gibsonia; and five grandchildren.

VOGEL — Friends of Goldie D. Vogel, who died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. James Heckman will officiate.
