Cleora M. 'Cle' Smith
Cleora M. “Cle” Smith, 63, of West Sunbury passed away at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at her home.
She was born Jan. 15, 1949, to the late Helen M. (Weitzel) Smith and Mervin L. Smith of West Sunbury.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Butler.
She worked at the Patent and Trademark Office, the General Services Administration, the U.S. Civil Service Commission and the Social Security Administration in Boyers during her 42½ years of government employment before retiring.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, taking pictures, watching John Wayne western movies and “I Love Lucy” episodes, and listening to Elvis.
An adventurer, she enjoyed traveling and had visited Las Vegas, Hershey, Pa., Memphis, Tenn., and Baltimore and the states of Oklahoma, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Maine, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Texas, Vermont and West Virginia, as well as Washington, D.C., and Canada. She went to Graceland and the World's Fair. She even took a hot air balloon ride.
However, her favorite destination was always to see her family. More than anything, family was the focus of her life. She loved visiting her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and great nephews.
She is survived by her five sisters, Marilyn Smith of West Sunbury, Nancy (Leslie) Clark of Cochranton, Doris (Harold) Daugherty of Butler, Linda (Curtis) Beblo of Greenville and Esther (Robert) Petroski of Harrisville; and her two brothers, Mervin Smith of Ford City and David (Karen) Smith of Hummelstown. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Angela, Richard, Curtina, Elizabeth, Christine, Katherine, David and Michael; and three great-nephews, Hunter, Kameron and Timothy.
She lived and was loved.
