Adam Kozar of Harmony will release his first CD, “Sickness Inside,” on Saturday at a concert at the Strand Theater in Zelienople.

ZELIENOPLE — Adam Kozar of Harmony will present a concert to mark the release of his first CD, “Sickness Inside,” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Strand Theater, 119 N. Main St.

“Sickness Inside” will be released worldwide Tuesday, but the CD will be available for the first time at the Saturday concert.

The single “If Looks Could” from the CD has been sent out to more than 450 radio stations nationwide and was officially approved to be played on 105.9 in the Pittsburgh market.

Kozar is reportedly the first person from Harmony to have an album released worldwide.

Born and raised in Harmony, he graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 2002.

The special guest who will open the concert will be the acoustic alternative rock performer and Kozar's lifelong friend, Jon Fisher.

Kozar is a solo artist, but on the album he has a band backing him up, just as he will for the Saturday concert. He plays electric and acoustic guitars and piano.

He says his music can be classified as alternative rock, though it possesses traces of every musical genre. He grew up listening to Motown or Alice Cooper one day, then Guns N' Roses or The Misfits the next.

He wrote all the lyrics and music for the 17 songs on his eclectic first album. The musical styles range from fast paced, hard songs to slower, more melodic songs and a few ballads.

This debut album was recorded and produced with Summit Studios of Pennsylvania.

At the concert, Kozar will offer several raffles to benefit the Zelienople-Harmony food bank.
