SLIPPERY ROCK — The monthly community dinner will be held Thursday.
This month's menu is roast beef, mashed potatoes, salad, bread and dessert. Due to renovations at Center Presbyterian Church, this month's dinner will be held at the United Methodist Church at 130 Franklin St. Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University's School of Business has met all of the standards required to receive its initial 10-year accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.The ACBSP board of commissioners for the baccalaureate degree commission has given its stamp of approval to SRU's School of Business programs in accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing. The school was cited for its strong faculty member support system and its student-learning outcomes.
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock Rotary on Monday presented its Ted Walwik Community Service Award to Sonya Lenz.Lenz of Slippery Rock owns Airport Orbit, CSA Tours and other businesses. She is a graduate of Slippery Rock High School and Slippery Rock UniversityThe club donated $1,000 in her name to the Rotary Paul Harris Foundation and Lenz became a Paul Harris Fellow. The Paul Harris Fellowship is named in memory of Harris, the founder of Rotary International.
GROVE CITY — The Challenge Program and Trinity Living Center recently awarded $250 to four Grove City High School seniors based on four different categories.Jacqueline Previty was given the Academic Excellence award for outstanding academic achievement. The Attendance award for least amount of days absent was given to Theresa King.Helen Kemeny received the Community Service award for completing the most hours of service outside school. And the Academic Improvement award was given to Mira Pollock, who demonstrated the most academic progress during the past school year..
GROVE CITY — Grove City College seeks nominations for the 30th annual Campus-Community Awards to be presented in November. The awards aim to publicly recognize individuals who personally strengthen town-gown relationships. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 30.The nominee for the community award must be an area individual who has demonstrated or cultivated positive relationships between Grove City College and one or more community groups.The nominee for the campus award must be a college employee or current student who donates substantial hours of volunteer service that benefit one or more organizations in the Grove City area and engenders a positive and engaged outlook between community and the college.To nominate a qualified individual deserving of a Campus-Community Award, contact Charlene M.
