Larissa Lesney

Larissa Lesney, 17, of Butler was named the 2012-2013 Butler County Dairy Princess at the pageant held May 26 at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.

A senior at Butler High School, Larissa is the daughter of Stephen and Paula Lesney of Butler.

Larissa helps out on her family's Chestnut Run Farm. The farm is milking 35 head of cows on 1,100 acres where they raise a herd of 100 Holsteins and Jersey Dairy cows.

She is a member of the Butler Equestrian Team, Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, the Butler Dairy 4-H Club and the B & B Judging Team.

Larissa has been a Dairy Miss, Dairy Maid and Dairy Ambassador.

She has three brothers and one sister.

Trisha Covert of Chicora was crowned the Butler County Alternate Dairy Princess. A senior at Butler High School, she is the daughter of Ivan and Becky Covert of Chicora.

Larissa and Trisha have a Dairy Court to help with promotions.

There are two Dairy Ambassadors, Sydney Rasp of Evans City, daughter of Charles and Carin Rasp; and Miranda Lutz of Zelienople, daughter of John and Donna Lutz of Zelienople.

There are four Dairy Misses, Lane Kummer of Evans City, daughter of Scott and Kate Kummer; Brooklyn Peters of Connoquenessing, daughter of Steve and Lona Peters; Maggie Rasp of Evans City, daughter of Charles and Carin Rasp; and Charlene Rosenberger of Sarver, daughter of Jack and Crystal Rosenberger.

Rosie Ann Mead was crowned Little Miss Saxonburg on Tuesday at the Saxonburg Carnival.The 7-year-old is the daughter of Darrin and Holly Mead of Butler.Rosie is a third-grader at South Butler Primary School in Saxonburg.The first runner-up was Makenzie Blystone of Butler, second runner-up was Madison Zellhart of Saxonburg and third runner-up was Shelby Cirrincione of Cabot.———On June 7, the Butler Duplicate Bridge Club winners were:First: Alan Leaver and David RuppertSecond: Patsy Bachman and Art Aronson.The Butler Eagle publishes announcements of awards or honors received by area residents or organizations.
