Tyler Dean struck out six and allowed only two hits over five innings as Mars II blasted Freeport II, 14-2, in Eagle County baseball play Tuesday night.

Matt Rovnan homered, singled and collected four RBI as Mars II (9-4) banged out 16 hits. Jim Roach added three singles.

Anthony Sklarsky, John Crummy and Eric King contributed two singles each for the winners.

In other action:

Mick Fennell flipped a three-hit shutout as Saxonburg (10-3) defeated Cranberry, 6-0. Ryan Fennell had two singles and scored two runs.

Steve Hall had a double and RBI, Dustin Hilgar and Brandon Wissinger a single and RBI.
