Mars II crushes Wexford in Eagle County baseball
John Crummy went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and Tim Geibel 3-for-3 with three RBIs to power Mars II to a 16-2 victory over Wexford in Eagle County Baseball action Monday.
Ryan Leonberg had two singles and two RBIs, Matt Rovnan a single and double, while Fred Haus pitched five innings to pick up the win for Mars (8-4).
In other games:
• Brad Johnson had four hits and Jim Burry three hits to pace Cranberry to a 13-1 victory over Freeport II.
Ben Follett had a single and triple, Justin Patsilevas and Greg Miller a single and double apiece and Keith Kubit two singles, all for Cranberry (5-4-2).
Zach Kreke struck out five in five innings to pick up the win.
On Saturday, Bill Clinefelter’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Cranberry a 7-6 win over Freeport.
Clinefelter had two hits while Miller had a single, double and triple while Todd Erdos was the winning pitcher.
• Efrain Gomez had a double and two singles and C.J. Wiegand added two singles to lead the Legacy Lions to a 6-2 victory over Saxonburg.
Zach Sessa scattered five hits to earn the win and Max Vickerman recorded the save.
Saxonburg received a double from Ryan Fennell.
