Christ Community United Methodist Church

The free dinner food preparation team for the Bike to Hope program of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, and Butler Township will meet at the church at 9 a.m. Friday.

The work teams for Saturday should be at the Butler Township building or the church at 9 a.m.

Community Life Church

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

The Butler praise and coffee morning is 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Butler Public Library. Women of all church affiliations are welcome. Those who did not register should contact Amy Riordan.

The Honduras mission trip meeting is noon Sunday in the elementary room after service. All going should attend. Contact Jason Brewer with any questions.

Softball games are at 2:30 and 3:45 p.m. on Sundays in June.

Reservations for the volunteer family bowling night are due Sunday.

Covenant Presby

The summer worship schedule will begin Sunday with worship at 10 a.m. and fellowship hour at 11 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. Sunday school will not meet during the summer.

The apportionment offering will be received Sunday.

All adult members are requested to pay a per-capita contribution toward the work of the Beaver-Butler Presbytery, the Synod, the Trinity, and the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA.

Following worship, an apportionment brunch will be held in the Assembly Room.

Faith United Presbyterian

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 120 T701.

The loose offering for the day will go to the deacon’s fund.

First Baptist

First Baptist Christian School will have senior graduation at 7 p.m. today, 221 W. New Castle St.

First Baptist Church will be having an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Friday at the Baptist Youth Center for ladies interested in learning more about the Women of Faith Conference, which will be held in September in Pittsburgh.

Evangelism training 101 will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the BYC for those who registered.

Glade Run U.P.

Communion will be celebrated Sunday at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia.

There will be a parent meeting at 6 p.m. Sunday for all parents of any senior high youth who is signed up for the summer trip.

GriefShare will meet a 7 p.m. Tuesday in the youth room.

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran

Graduation Sunday will be during 10 a.m. service at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St.

Sit and Be Fit will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church

GraceWay

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Local musician Dan Schall will be the guest Sunday.

Hill U.P.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at the 6 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

High school graduates will be recognized at the Sunday service and the Hill Youth Chorale will be commissioned for its trip to New York City.

A concert by the chorale will take place at noon in the sanctuary.

Covenant Cupboard food requests for June are pasta and spaghetti sauce.

Meridian U.P.

Summer worship schedule begins Sunday with the worship time of 10 a.m. at Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave.

Recent graduates will be recognized during the morning service, and will be invited to a “cookie reception” following the service.

Rev. Franklin will host a summer Bible study immediately following the 10 a.m. service. The first session begins Sunday.

The Sarah Elizabeth Circle will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday.

New Life Christian Ministries

The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated Sunday at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch Primary School, 328 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.

New Life will have a tent display at the Buffalo Township Community Days, Lernerville Speedway, from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Clowns and race cars will be featured as well as lots of information handouts about the church.

New Life’s praise band will be on stage Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Amber Miller will do Christian clowning at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Nixon U.M.

Their will be an informal worship service at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road.

Graduates will be honored at the 10 a.m. worship service and the Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated.

Skip Cooper will be providing music.

Old Union Presby

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will host a piano recital of Cindy’s students at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The church will honor graduates Sunday and the congregation is asked to prepare by reading 2 Timothy 1:3-14.

The fundraising committee and the missions committee will meet after worship this week. Those interested should speak with Marsha Nicholas about the search for a new chairman for the fundraising committee.

Saint Andrews U.P.

The First Sunday mission offering of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will go to Catholic Charities.

The church picnic will be immediately after worship at the Miller Shelter at Butler Memorial Park.

Hot dogs, buns and drinks will be provided.

Attendees should take side dishes, desserts, picnic place settings and a small wrapped gift to share as a prize for bingo. A gift card will be awarded to the favorite dessert.

The summer canoe trip on the Allegheny River from Emlenton to Parker will be June 16. Reservations must be made by Sunday by contacting the church or Chuck King.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

Community day camp hoagie sales may be picked up from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Centennial Hall, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Holy Trinity and church music will be celebrated at both services Sunday with communion and worship.

Graduates will receive a blessing and Sunday school leaders, teachers and aides will be recognized.

The final session of Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. with a Funday Sunday celebration.

All church members are urged to attend the meeting at noon Sunday immediately following the late service for the final vote on disaffiliation.

Senior Stars will meet at 1:40 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot to travel to Elmcroft for the monthly worship service.

St. John’s Lutheran

The cause of the month for June at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, is the Water for the Woodlands Project.

Monetary donations will be accepted at the church. Actual sealed bottles of water should be taken to the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church.

This church is still looking for volunteers to attend the Synod Assembly.

St. John’s Reformed

St. John’s Reformed Church, 494 Evans City Road, summer service times will begin Sunday with 9 a.m. Sunday school and 10 a.m. worship service.

St. John U.C.C.

Holy Communion will be served Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

The June meeting of consistory will commence at 7 p. m. Monday.

Adult bell choir will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday to polish and put away the bells for the summer.

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran

Holy Communion will be served at all services this weekend at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.

All baked goods for Meals on Wheels are to be placed by Monday in the Sunday school kitchen.

St. Mark’s Handbell Choir will join with the Pot-Pourri and St. Paul Hand Bell Choirs for a concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Church. The concert is part of the “Faith in Music Concert Series.”

A limited number of tickets are available for the “Women of Faith-Celebrate What Matters in 2012” Conference to be held in September at the Peterson Event Center in Pittsburgh. For more information or to purchase tickets, call Karen Cooper at 724-789-7260.

Summit Presby

Communion will be served, two baptisms will be celebrated and new members will be welcomed during the 9:30 a.m. worship time Sunday at Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive.

After worship, members are invited to stay for a farewell fellowship time for the Brady family.

At 11 a.m. Sunday, those volunteers involved in this year’s Sky VBS are asked to attend a training time.

Work times for preparing for the June 24 to 28 vacation Bible school will be from 9 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday and Friday and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

All available to help with decorating are encouraged to come.

Trinity Lutheran

Holy Communion will be offered at all weekend services at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township.

Pastor Benson will be leading a Bible study class at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday during the summer months.

It will be a study of the Psalms and will be an informal study group.

Vacation Bible school is still in need of helpers for one day. Call Janet Flecken at 724-285-4182 to volunteer.

Trinity Youth are collecting donations to their Extra Mile Campaign to help with the expenses for their trip to the national youth gathering in New Orleans in July.

Envelopes are available on the table in the narthex for “purchasing” miles.

Zion United Methodist

Zion United Methodist Church is located at 438 Bear Creek Road, Sarver.
