President of BC3 chairs heart walks
Nick Neupauer, president of Butler County Community College, will chair this year’s two heart walks in Butler County for the American Heart Association.
The walks will be Sept. 15 at Westinghouse Electric’s headquarters in Cranberry Township and Oct. 13 at BC3’s campus in Butler Township.
As the 2012 Heart Walk chair, he will organize company leaders, team captains and volunteers to help raise money for heart and stroke research that is vital to the American Heart Association.
When Neupauer was in his junior year at Penn State University, his grandfather died of a heart attack at the age of 67. Since then, he has been motivated to help prevent heart disease.
“I was devastated. At the time, I made a personal pledge to do whatever I could to fight this disease. This is a great opportunity to do just that.” Neupauer said in a news release.
