Community Life ChurchCommunity Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.There will be a Laundromat outing after tear down Sunday. Anyone wanting to donate funds can do so at the info hub Sunday or any week in the offering.Butler Praise and Coffee morning reservations are due Wednesday for the meeting at 9:30 a.m. June 2 at the Butler Library.The meetings are for women of all church affiliations. There will be a time of fellowship and light refreshments followed by Amy Riordan's testimony of God's redeeming love, forgiveness and the freedom that can be found in him.Sunday's hospitality theme is red, white and blue.

Covenant PresbyThe Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated on Pentecost Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.The “noisy offering” of loose change will also be received.The People for Peace Bible study class will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Maridon Museum.Betty Anderson will conduct a tour for the class followed by lunch at the Chop Shop Restaurant.

Faith U.P.The congregation of Faith United Presbyterian Church will remember with gratitude all who served or are serving in the armed forces Sunday at 1329 N. Main St.Also, the holy day of Pentecost, celebrating the gift of the Holy Spirit to the church, will be highlighted.All are encouraged to wear something red to the worship service.

Fenelton U.M. The Memorial Day Sunday service will be a 10 a.m. combined service at Fenelton United Methodist Church, Fenelton-Chicora Road.There will be no services at Craigsville United Methodist Church or McKee Chapel United Methodist Church.

First BaptistFirst Baptist Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church, 221 W. the Sower's ChapelThe outdoor community Memorial Day celebration will be at 11 a.m. Sunday to honor all veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.There will be parking and transportation from the Sower's Chapel, 100 Iron Bridge Road, Sarver, between 10 and 10:45 a.m. since parking is limited at the site of the celebration.The celebration includes an honor guard from Slippery Rock University, bagpipes, trumpeters, patriotic music and refreshments.The late Walter Williamson, a veteran of the Korean War, will be honored during the flag ceremony.The Rev. George McCurdy, a veteran, will lead the celebration.

St. Luke's LutheranThe bell choir will meet at 6:30 p.m. today before generations choir at St Luke's Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg.The feast of Pentecost will be celebrated Sunday with Holy Communion.The church office will be closed Monday for Memorial Day.Community quiet time will be moved to 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

ST. John LutheranSt. John's Lutheran Church, Main Street, Connoquenessing, will change to summer hours for Sunday worship service with a 10:30 a.m. starting time.The May Cause of the Month is the Lutherlyn Church Camp.

St. John U.C.C.Those attending are asked to wear red to celebrate Pentecost during Sunday worship service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.Sunday school will be held concurrently with worship beginning Sunday and continuing through Labor Day.The annual mother/daughter banquet begins at 6 p.m. today in the church fellowship hall.There will be no church office hours May 28.

St. Mark's Evangelical LutheranConfirmation will be Sunday, as well as Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the church, at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.Those attending are asked to wear red.There will be a Confirmation reception after the church service in the chapel.St. Mark's provides desserts for Meals on Wheels for the month of June.Those able are asked to bake cookies, cakes, brownies or quick breads with no nuts or icing. Pies are also welcome, but no nuts or cream pies.Cake mixes, brownie mixes, eggs and vegetable oil will also be accepted and used for baking.Baked goods should be placed in the Sunday school kitchen no later than June 4.Items for baking should be left no later than Wednesday.Notify the church office of the donation.
