The Butler County Historical Society presents Butler County History Days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Organizations participating and offering free admission include Washington’s Trail, Slippery Rock Heritage Association, the Old Stone House, Prospect Area Preservation Society, Lancaster Township History Center, Evans City Historical Society, Providence Plantation, Mars History and Landmark Society, Valencia Historical Society, and the Butler County Historical Society’s Lowrie/Shaw House and the Little Red School House.

Also, the history of Alameda Park will be celebrated at 7 p.m. May 24. Bill May will give a 50-minute slide show presentation about the activities and attractions that brought people to the park in its early days.

And on the weekend of June 2 and 3, the historical society will host a guided tour of Antietam’s battlefields, cemeteries, and other surrounding attractions.

Comedy show tickets offeredCommunity Care Connections hosts the Clean Comedy Club featuring comedian Brett Leake at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.The show will be followed by a reception for guests to meet Leake in person and get autographs.Leake made television history when he became the first disabled comedian to appear on “The Tonight Show.”Tickets are available by calling 724-283-3198, Ext. 250, or at www.bc3.edu/theater.

Glass Blowing Center plans open houseHILLIARDS — An open house is planned for noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Glass Blowing Center, 114 Leonard Road. Local grad’s band plays N.Y.SEATTLE — Butler High School graduate Glenn Crytzer and his Crytzer’s Blue Rhythm Band will make its New York debut July 2 at Midsummer Night Swing, Lincoln Center’s outdoor music and dance festival.Crytzer’s Blue Rhythm Band, founded 2008, is a 14-piece big band based in Seattle. The ensemble performs jazz, swing and blues from the late 1920s through mid-1940s as well as original songs composed in the vintage style by bandleader Crytzer.The group’s repertoire includes arrangements made famous by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Chick Webb, Jimmie Lunceford, and other swing-era greats.Band members Laura Crytzer and Matt Blostein also are Butler graduates.

Country star plays IndianaINDIANA, Pa. — Country music star Tracy Lawrence will perform at 1 and 6 p.m. July 22 at the 38th annual Country Music Show, hosted by Indiana County Fraternal Order of Police, at the Indiana County Fairgrounds’ Mack Park, Hospital Road, Indiana County.Admission is $22 in advance or $25 at the door. Betty Boop film fest setPITTSBURGH — The ToonSeum will celebrate a jazz film icon with the Betty Boop Film Festival from 8 to 10 p.m. June 2.The festivities will begin with a beer and wine reception and a visit from Betty herself.
