Butler tennis wins WPIAL playoff match
The Butler boys tennis team swept all three singles matches on the way to a 3-2 win over Peters Township in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs Monday.
Will Nesbit, who won the WPIAL singles title last month, earned a 7-6, 6-4 win over Mitchell Kreider in the No. 1 singles match. No. 2 singles player Zac McCafferty earned a 6-1, 6-2 win and No. 3 A.J. May also won convincingly, 6-2, 6-3, for Butler.
The Golden Tornado will take on Mt. Lebanon today in the quarterfinal round.

Maddie Koontz scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime as Seneca Valley edged Peters Township 8-7.Goalkeeper Hailey Sandor stopped 17 shots for the Raiders.Lindsey Leddon led the attack with three goals.
