Negativity is concern
Why are we reading stories about such prominent Butler County officials in the newspaper lately who have negative connotations to them? These are all very good people who take their jobs seriously.
Commissioner Dale Pinkerton left private employment and then became a county commissioner. As people look at what he has accomplished so far, he will most likely become known as the best commissioner we ever have had.
He sets the standard for all other public officials to follow.
We rely so much on the integrity of the state police that to think we should become cautious of state police Trooper Scott Altman in doing his civil duties, or begin questioning the actions of any other state police trooper, is unheard of for our community.
Finally, Lori Altman, Scott Altman’s wife, who serves as county personnel director, is being portrayed as having received a questionable pay raise. Yet, county officials felt that her raise was in order.
Fortunately for us, during the time when she was underpaid she still continued to do her job as professionally as possible.
Focusing more on the positive of what our public servants are doing will only create a better atmosphere that will someday rank Butler as the number one small town in the nation.
And, from the recent ranking received, Butler is very close to achieving that recognition.
