Rotz whiffs 13 in Mars victory

Taylor Rotz struck out 13 batters and also added a single, double and three RBI as the Mars softball team edged Central Valley 5-4 on Thursday.

Suzanne Papik, Erin Hershman, Kasey Jones and Taylor Leslie also singled and doubled for the Planets.

Elsewhere:

• Alexa Sisko homered and Julia Vandrak had three hits and two RBI as Seneca Valley rolled to a 10-0, five-inning win over Oakland Catholic.

<B>Butler 22, Indiana 9 — </B>The Golden Tornado (1-1, 1-0) won this road game Wednesday night as Cody Bachman had eight goals and three assists, Tanner Kotch five goals and two assists. Chandler Harvey added two goals and an assist, Cory Hilliard a goal and three assists.Butler’s JV posted a 16-7 win. Jake Harrison had four goals and two assists, Jamison Smith five goals and three assists, Clay Bachman three goals and six assists.The Tornado travel to North Allegheny tonight.
