Lifesteps will offer a free screening service for children up to the age of 5.The screenings will be from 9 a.m. to noon April 2 at the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St., and from 8 a.m. to noon April 16 at the Butler County Program Center, 383 New Castle Road.A child check visit takes about 30 minutes to complete with the results discussed immediately with the parents.The screening looks at the child's development in the areas of playing, talking, seeing, hearing, moving and thinking.Appointments are recommended, but are not required.
