Cass, why is it so outrageous to charge higher rates for women when women can require more preventative exams and tests than males do? This is also just a guess on my part based solely on my own experiences, but could it also be because women tend to go to doctors more than men do? If you are a higher risk dirver or have had accidents, you pay higher car insurance premiums right? I'm not saying women are higher risk because I don't know that for a fact, but perhaps the insurance companies do know.

I'm sorry, but I just don't see a problem with charging more if someone or a group costs more to treat and maintain. But I have no idea if the percentage you quoted is correct or not and whether that differnce is a reasonabe number or not either.

You also never mentioned they just announced that the numbers set forth when it was being passed were woefully inaccurate and it's actually going to cost double or more of what was proposed.
