Louis C. Bishop

Louis C. Bishop, 93, passed away Saturday at the Sherwood Oaks Life Care Community, Cranberry Township. Previously he lived in Ingomar, Pa., Lake Latonka, Pa., and Venice, Fla.

He was the husband of the late Clarissa (Cris) Bishop for 63 years.

Surviving are his daughter, Lynn Lynn (Terry, deceased) of Amelia Island, Fla., his son, Jay (Dana) of Stow, Ohio, and his daughter, Jan Closson (Bill) of Franklin Park, Pa.; his sister, Elva Schilpp of Beaver County; grandchildren, Shawn Bishop (Claudia), Kevin Lynn (Maureen), Jenna Hudock (T.J.), Crissa Gillette (John), Brittany Frederick and Landon Frederick, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Ingomar Methodist Church for more than 65 years. He worked in management for 35 years at Merck and Co., Calgon Industrial Division. He was a pioneer of and contributor to the art, science and literature of industrial process and power plant water treatment.

He was an early member of the Sherwood Oaks Life Care Community executive board, a past explorer scout leader, a Friends of Scouting chairman, and a recipient of the Silver Beaver for longtime service to scouting. He was a visionary leader, and a mover and shaker in all endeavors.

He was a loving husband and father and his family came first. A touch of humor was sprinkled on all that he touched.

<B>BISHOP</B> — The funeral service for Louis C. Bishop, who died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, will be today at 11 a.m. at the Ingomar United Methodist Church, followed by a light lunch.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Laurel Highlands Council Boy Scouts, 125 Bedford Ave., Flag Plaza, Pittsburgh, PA.Arrangements are entrusted to <B>Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry.</B>
