Let me propose the following once again:

After the past few days in the Butler Eagle — people held against their will, burned with a butter knife; a drug-related shooting at an apartment building; and the stories go on and on — I still am waiting to hear from the mayor, city council or county commissioners about their response or stance on these serious problems. I guess myself and Denny Offstein are the only two who are concerned about it.

The city and township police do a great job, even to the point of putting their lives in danger answering these calls. Elected officials should ride along with these officers and see what the real world is like, instead of deciding on what wall to hang a certain picture or planning for the next city celebration.
