SR swims to 28 team records

The Slippery Rock youth swim team finished eighth out of 30 teams at the recent Allegheny Mountain Swimming “A” championships held at the University of Pittsburgh's Trees Pool.

The girls finished 10th with 116 points, the boys ninth with 71. Only 12 swimmers swam the meet for Slippery Rock with eight of them reaching the championship finals.

The swimmers set 28 team records and at least two will swim in the Eastern Zone meet in Rochester, N.Y., March 29-31.

Trent Donaldson finished third in 10-under boys for the High Point Award while Devin Javens finished second in 11-12 girls.

This season marked the best finish ever for the Slippery Rock team.
