Harold L. Morse

Harold L. Morse, 93, of Salt Lake City, Utah, formerly of Butler, passed away on Friday at Salt Lake Regional Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Moyock, N.C., to the late Wallace Jennings Morse and Leola Arsena Lane Morse.

Harold worked as a mechanical engineer for the Callery Chemical Co.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.

He is survived by one son, Michael David Morse and his wife, Cynthia Brandt, of Salt Lake City, and three grandchildren, Lauren E. Morse, Samuel E. Morse and Matthew B. Morse, all of Salt Lake City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Geneva Nichols Morse, who he married Oct. 6, 1944, and who passed away Dec. 18, 2009, and his brothers, Lawrence and Ralph Morse.

<B>MORSE</B> — Friends of Harold L. Morse, who passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler, with the Reverend Jeffrey St. Clair officiating.Burial will take place in Beechwood Cemetery, Alma, W.Va.Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
