Craig Gordon
Craig Gordon, 63, of Portersville entered eternal peace Thursday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
Born Aug. 31, 1948, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Oliver and Francis (Craig) Gordon.
Craig was a 1966 graduate of Avonworth High School. He received his bachelor's in education from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., and his master's in special education from Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock.
He retired as a special educator with the Pittsburgh Public Schools after 28 years and from 7-Eleven, Cranberry Township, after 11 years.
Craig gave 40 years' volunteer service with fire and EMS services. He the former fire chief of the Ben Avon Heights Volunteer Fire Company and retired as a life-member of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
He was a member of the Plains Presbyterian Church, Cranberry Township, where he was an ordained elder.Craig is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Albert “Al” and Rachel Gordon of Slippery Rock; his son, George W. Gordon, of Slippery Rock; a stepson, Edward Brown of Harmony; two loving grandchildren, Emmett William Gordon and Ali Julianna Gordon; cousins, Nancy “Eloise” Bulebush and Amy Siford of Crafton; and his cherished companion, Rebecca “Becky” Gottschalk of Portersville.
