David B. Irwin

Irwin

David B. Irwin, 75, of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, in the Frogtown area, died Thursday at the VNA Impatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Dec. 23, 1936, in Fenelton, he was the son of Warren W. and Mary Belle (Ross) Irwin.

On April 10, 1952, Dave married Marjorie Carolyn McCanna.

Dave attended East Brady High School. He was a landscaper with Wilson Landscape in Butler for 5 years. He then worked for the Rex Hide in East Brady for 10 years. He was employed by Pullman Standard for 13 years until the time of its closing.

Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing and long walks in the woods. He liked playing Scrabble and cards and enjoyed listening to country-western music and taught his children how to sing. He loved his dogs, and was especially fond of beagles. Dave was admired by his children for his strength and taught them to be strong, but to always have a soft heart.

He was a member of the East Brady Baptist Church.

Dave is survived by his wife, Marjorie Carolyn Irwin of Frogtown; one son, David R. Irwin of Frogtown; six daughters, Marilyn L. Wiseman of Brookville, Fla., Patricia G. Emminger and her husband, James, of Port Richie, Fla., Linda L. Schwab and her husband, Jack, of Tampa, Fla., Sandra D. Klingensmith and her husband, Mark, of New Iberia, La., Cherie L. Greenspring of Butler and Robin M. Patch and her husband, Ronald, of Butler; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one twin brother, James Irwin and his wife, Janice, of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Colligan and her husband, James, of East Brady, Madelyn Shanor of Sharon and Linda Barnes of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy Shaumloffel; one grandson, Joshua Rodgers; three sisters; and one brother.

IRWIN — Friends of David B. Irwin, who died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the

Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home, 105 Fourth St., East Brady. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
