No one is coming to take your guns. Even if they wanted to, it would be political suicide at the national level, and no politician is going to risk votes.

I'd be more worried about the fact that you can't buy tanks or F-16s or nuclear warheads. How are you supposed to defend yourself against the encroaching government if they've got you outgunned? You can be sure your little rifle won't do much good in a real war.
