Marjorie M. Held
Marjorie M. Held, 75, of Slippery Rock and Apollo passed away at 2 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Clay Township. She was the daughter of the late Richard E. Anderson and Blanche E. Fair Anderson.
She retired from the food services department at Slippery Rock University. She was a member of the American Legion Post 243 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Held of Apollo; two sons, Randy Anderson and Wayne Bartley, both of Slippery Rock; five grandchildren, Purrie, Adam, Sierra, Tristen and Jessica; mother-in-law Dorothy Huselton; five sisters, Mrs. Rodney (Virginia) Hockenberry of Grove City, Annabelle Hoover, Joan Cumberland and Scherri Grazier, all of Butler, and Patricia Ifft of West Sunbury; one brother, Richard E. “Punk” Anderson of Butler; three stepdaughters, Peggy Foster, Brenda (John) Berrett and Jodie Schmude; two stepsons, Ronald Held Jr. and Robert (Jennifer) Scott; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
<B>HELD</B> — Friends of Marjorie M. Held, who died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Pat Nelson of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, 215 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.
